DKTD has a core team of three professional consultants and employs additional specialist project staff as required.
David Kay
Director of the company, David Kay established David Kay Training and Development Services in 1992. David has extensive experience in education and training capacity building, project management and senior public sector management in Australia and several countries in Asia and the Pacific.
David holds post-graduate qualifications in adult education and has been involved in curriculum development since the early 1980s. He began his career in the private sector, where he held roles as the Training Manager at the Real Estate Institute of Victoria and National Education Manager at the Property Council of Australia. Since establishing DKTD, David has worked with the Australian Maritime College and conducted a training needs analysis for TAFE in Australia. He has also developed and delivered a curriculum writing training course for the National Centre for Competency-based Training, and developed competency standards for instructors of online learning programs.
In private sector industry training David has worked in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
More recently, David has worked extensively on public sector projects in Papua New Guinea, Samoa, India, China and Sri Lanka and delivered refereed keynote speeches at international training conferences in Austria, Cuba and Greece. He is a specialist in competency-based training and assessment, and has been directly involved in both education reform and donor-funded education aid projects in Asia and the Pacific.
David is the author of two books: Train to Win in Real Estate and The Complete Small Business Training Guide. David also writes local interest stories when he is undertaking assignments. These short pieces demonstrate his creative storytelling flair, his eye for detail and his great sense of humour.
Jane Perry
Jane Perry joined David Kay Training and Development as Director of Education and Training in 2007. Jane holds a Masters degree in Education and has expertise is in the areas of professional development, education research, and in monitoring and evaluating training programs.
Jane is a highly-skilled facilitator and teacher trainer in the TVET sector and has broad experience in cross-cultural contexts. She has diverse experience in project management, project design, capacity building, materials development and training quality assurance.
Between 1988 and 2007, Jane was responsible for the coordinating and delivering post-graduate courses in education, supervising post-graduate research students, and conducting pre- and in-service teacher training at RMIT University.
Jane has evaluated organisational learning and analysed the professional development needs of staff for Victoria’s adult and community education sectors. She has also assessed the benefits of leadership development initiatives and researched the effectiveness of mentoring in change management initiatives.
Jane has worked with educators in a large number of nations in Asia and the Pacific region and beyond to develop programs that focus on learner-centered delivery for adult participants. Jane’s international experience includes Australia, China, Bangladesh, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, England, India, Japan, Nauru, Malta, Malaysia, Samoa, South Africa, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam. She has delivered conference papers in Australia, Greece, Cuba and the USA.
Sarah Church
Sarah Church joined David Kay Training and Development in 1996 to manage learning resource development projects, relationships with Registered Training Organisations and their compliance with government regulations and quality systems.
Sarah has graduate qualifications in Business and Adult Training and expertise in instructional design. She is also a qualified workplace trainer and assessor and has wide experience managing government-funded training for Registered Training Organisations.
Sarah has worked in industries as diverse as real estate, financial services, mining and emergency services. She also has extensive experience in the recruitment industry.
Prior to joining DKTD, Sarah worked in the training and development unit of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria, was professional development coordinator for CPA Australia, and managed a national Registered Training Organisation for the Australian Institute of Management.
With DKTD, Sarah has worked in developing learning and assessment materials for the mining, real estate, emergency services, financial services and pest control industries. She has also provided professional advice to Registered Training Organisations regarding management of AQTF compliance.
